NYC Officials Assure Public Most Puddles Of Bodily Fluid On Streets Not Contaminated With Ebola

I'm not one of those people who usually gets sad over a celeb or someone I've never met, but this particular death really got to me. An absolute shame.

Horribly Awkward Baby Photos
Not really sure it gets funnier than this:
Estately ran hundreds of search queries through Google Trends to determine which words, terms, and questions each state was searching for more than any other. Click here to find out just how depraved your state is.

That crazy MoFo Alec Baldwin who was recently arrested for riding his bicycle in the wrong direction on fifth avenue, referred to NYC as a "Mismanaged Carnival of Stupidity". I can honestly say I have never heard a more accurate description. Love him. Check out my below post in case you hesitate to agree with me.
Okay, so, a teenager made his way into and all the way up to the top of the World Trade Center (which is supposed to be a true fortress of security) by sneaking in through a hole and simply walking past a security guard. I understand the security guard was fired immediately but it it really necessary for this boy to actually face possible jail time? Come on!!
So, I'm complaining about a teenager possibly being sent to jail for a truly victimless crime....(well, I guess there are victims: the security guard and security professionals who are supposedly protecting the WTC. They are victims of their own incompetency being publicized...but, I digress) but...in other news...there is a baby out there...YES A BABY...being charged with murder. Yeah, I , mean just look at the pic below. If that's not the face of a cold-blooded murdered I don't know what is:
Did you see that a Senator attended the wrong hearing on Capital Hill but it took him a full hour to figure that out! An hour. Is that not the perfect metaphor for our government officials or what?
I am forever tooling around looking for new places to get my news. I prefer them to be informative, offer a fresh spin on recycled news items and possibly even be a little cheeky. The following blogs fill most of that criteria so give 'em a peek:
ProPublica described as journalism in the public interest.
Worldcrunch described as selecting, translating and editing content from top foreign outlets.
The Epoch Times described as uncensored news that values freedom of the press and humanity.
On The Media described as tackling issues with frankness and transparency (NPR).
Because bullshit tabloid celebrity crap is so intertwined with what passes for "real" news, like me, you would have no choice but to know that Gwenyth Paltrow and her husband are splitting up. I am posting this here for two reasons: 1) It seems that Gwennie invented her own jargon "conscious uncoupling" to announce their split. She is so extraordinary a whole new vocabulary has to be invented for what other couples just use "separating" or "divorcing". 2) so many people have taken notice that Gwennie lives with her had up her ass and have decided to voice their opinions about that. Please read this open letter to Gwennie and fall in love with the author as much as I did.
In the past couple of days my sister has emailed me two really, super, triple, frightening, scary, freaky things.
Here they are:
THIS IS COMPLETE BULLSHIT!
One of the things that really gets me going is, it seems, that once a relatively reputable international news leader breaks a story it seems all that follows is that other news sources not only report the same thing, but they use the same exact language and report it in same the exact format. I spent some time tooling around and was not surprised AT ALL that CNN, BBC, Israeli and Turkish news articles wrote the same exact thing about the situation in Crimea over and over again. In every single report the article opened with a phrase about the US and EU issuing sanctions and that 97% of the Crimean population chose voted to join with Russia. And, from what I could tell so far it was only a BBC reporter, Ben Brown, that commented that a
"huge number of people in the minority population - the Tatars and Ukrainians - abstained from the vote", making it difficult to tell if the figures added up."
No shit! When I read this propaganda bullshit am I the only literate person that thinks:
1) That part of the country has been in complete disarray for longer than it was brought to the world stage. Even without the Russian invasion of Crimea, casting ballots, voting accuracy and logistics would be, at the very least, questionable.
2) Of course we are being told that the Crimeans want to join Russia! They were invaded and are now controlled by Russia! So, isn't it possible that people are being forced to vote a certain way, that only people who have proven to be Russian supporters are allowed to vote or that the vote is complete and absolute bullshit because that part of the country has been completely dominated by Russia?
3) Is it just me or does it not exactly add up that Russia would plan and execute an aggressive (and probably violent) overthrow of Crimea and then hold a vote? Are you freakin' kidding me?
So, that part of it insults my intelligence. But, there is a bigger part of me that is insulted as a writer. Often, much of the life of a writer consists of trying to convey the same thoughts using different language. Try writing an article about birds for the National Audubon Society and making it sound fresh. Try writing donor acknowledgment letters to the same people for years and not repeating yourself. So it really pisses me off when reporters seem to simply cut and paste other stories. These lazy "reporters" use the same format, the same verbiage, the same everything. Okay, I get the story you are writing is complete bullshit (have I said that before?) but can you at least put some effort to it? If you have the honor of writing a headline for a world-wide news outlet, can't you put at least much effort into it as I put into writing blurbs for my blog? It has been a long time since I trusted the voracity of any media outlet, but can't I, once in a while, just appreciate the writing? Guess not.
Make sure you have tissues close by before you read this post. To sum it up an elderly couple surrendered their 13 1/2 year old Dachshund to a local shelter requesting that they put him to sleep. The couple, living paycheck to paycheck and unable to afford their own medical care, felt they had no other alternative than to euthanize their pet. They simply could not afford his food, his care and further medical testing that was needed to determine some health issues they thought were more serious. If fact, they were unable to even afford the cost of putting him to sleep. Some wonderful people stepped in and changed the fate of that lucky Dachshund and his humans. Read this. And if it doesn't bring tears to your eyes well, than I don't want to know ya.

Argentina is slowing falling apart. Just today, their own President resigned and fled the country via helicopter. Now, it would be a complete exaggeration for me to imply that I have a handle on what's going on there. But, I don't get the looting. When citizens all over the world (our country included) are protesting or revolting, one of the first things you know is going to happen is looting. Now, I understand taking to the streets, but I never understood what random destruction of property is going to accomplish other than to increase violence, deplete resources and fuck up the area where you live. Isn't it the ultimate display of spitefulness?
When a Hot Pocket gets you, well, hot. (Did I go too far with the below image?)
I've gotten used to the "news" not really being the news. Whether in MA, NY or even Brazil, much of the news stories on TV or in newspapers are more tabloidish. Yes, I've gotten used to learning that some celebrity just got a new haircut right after learning a war is breaking out in the Ukraine. I no longer break out in hives when how much weight a "Biggest Loser" competitor lost is thrown into the top three stories of the evening. I let it go because I am not pulling my news from the most reliable sources. I'm getting my news from local news channels and local papers so I can forgive them (maybe) for not setting the bar so high. But, has it really come to the point that CNN headlines that Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are a true love story? Or, that USA Today included that Tiger Woods shot his lowest round of the year in their Top News Stories section? Really, that's a top News Story? How 'bout putting it in the Sports section where it belongs? Or how 'bout printing that article and using it for kindling to start a fire on the editor's desk? Now, that would be a good story!
Thank God this mess is over because I thought we going backwards. I kept reading about Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer who is in the middle of a heated debate over religious rights, as she weighed whether to sign a bill that would legally protect businesses that deny services to the gays for religious reasons. I'm shutting up about all the moral, ethical, political and just plain common sense reasons why this is equally offensive and asinine. What I do find amazing is how business owners in Arizona are able to tell a person's sexuality just by looking at them! Wow! Now that is a real talent. Wish I could acquire a similar talent for bigots. Worth noting that I found the below flattering photo of the Governor by googling "Jan Brewer is a douche".
It's at the point where I just read the words North & South Korea and I start crying. The separation of families for decades has been nothing short of cruel.
